How To Get Tinkaton in Pokemon GO?

Tinkaton is now available in Pokemon GO for the first time from April 16, 2025, to April 22, 2025. If you’re interested in adding this Steel and Fairy-type from the Paldea region to your team, there are a few specific methods you can focus on. Here’s how you can go about it.

Ways To Catch Tinkaton in Pokemon GO

1. Hatch a Tinkatink from Eggs

One of the most reliable ways to begin the process is by hatching Tinkatink from Eggs. During the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event (from April 16 to April 22, 2025), Tinkatink is available in 7 km Eggs. Make sure you place them in an Incubator during the event to benefit from the reduced hatch distance.

After the event ends, Tinkatink won’t disappear entirely but will shift to 10 km Eggs. That means it’ll be a bit harder to come by, but still possible if you’re consistent with walking and collecting Eggs from gifts.

2. Use Candy to Evolve Tinkatink

If you manage to get Tinkatink in Pokemon GO either from Eggs or through other encounters, you’ll need candy to evolve it. Evolving Tinkatink into Tinkatuff requires 25 Tinkatink Candy. From there, another 100 Tinkatink Candy will get you Tinkaton. Using Pinap Berries while catching or transferring duplicates will help you collect candy faster.

Don’t forget that walking with Tinkatink as your Buddy will also generate candy over time. That can come in handy if you’re short on resources.

3. Timed Research Tasks

During the event, both free and paid Timed Research tasks are available. The paid version, costing US$4.99, includes direct encounters with Tinkatink as one of its rewards. This offers another opportunity to collect Tinkatink without relying entirely on hatching Eggs.

Make sure you complete these tasks before April 22, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. After that, the tasks will expire, and so will the chance to earn Tinkatink through this method.

4. Wild Encounters (Indirect Method)

Tinkaton itself doesn’t appear in the wild, but participating in the event gives you access to wild Pokemon that can help you progress. For instance, catching event-themed Pokemon like Floragato or Fuecoco contributes toward event goals and may lead to extra resources, including Stardust and XP, which are useful for evolving and powering up Pokemon like Tinkaton.

5. PokeStop Showcases and Surprise Features

While Tinkatink isn’t featured directly at PokeStops or in surprise encounters, event-themed showcases often reward top performers with in-game bonuses. These may help with resources like Stardust and Incubators. Check your local PokeStops during the event for entry opportunities, and keep an eye out for photo surprises when taking snapshots.

Can Tinkaton Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Shiny Tinkaton is available. But the appearance of Shiny Tinkatink in Pokemon GO depends on chance. Whether you’re hatching it from an Egg or getting it from Timed Research, there’s a small probability that the version you get could be shiny.

If you’re aiming for a Shiny Tinkaton, you’ll need to collect and evolve multiple Tinkatink. Boosting your chances means hatching more Eggs, completing more tasks, and maximizing every encounter opportunity during the event window.
